Moving image. works with lighting and CGI design with lighting. going through the path of going from a BA into an MA. Photography into CGI.
Moving image of the men on the bikes, moving image of flashing light with water, making the water still. interesting. “deconstructed images”
COMPLETELY 3D PHOTOGRAPHY VERY COOL AND INTERESTING.
Moved from moving image experimentation into film and CGI design.
doing scanning to make things look real in post production.
post production of lighting on images and moving image.
After his BA he started working as a lighting assistant, and begun making work along side that he had considered doing for a while.
He then started his MA and the project ‘shrine’ to work with churches and signs for churches, using and interesting combination of techniques to photograph.
Used some crazy equipment.

Then started making more work and used lighting to set power dynamics and control atmosphere.

Constructed images light CG and lighting.
Became interested in ‘The Therapeutic Real”
strange interactions with empathy and understanding, a film shown that there is something therapeutic about the understanding of something from someone else.
An interest in things as to weather they are made, built, or documented.
Uses CG as a planning process when making installations or other work, trying out different lighting and planning via this type of CG.
He then made an installation where he gave the illusion of a still image but it was actually 3d inset into a wall with a cover over it, he used lighting to make the piece look 3d.

Creating a narrative with black and white images that are a lot about the lighting. he likes creating scenes.
I found this lecture informative in a technical sense, it was interesting hearing about the different ways in which post production can be used to enhance work, or even be the main focus of the work. He talked about a 3 dimensional photograph/ video technique where you have a subject, and then place a circle of camera around the subject that make an image at the same time, you then layer the images in a stop motion/ giff type style, then creating a video that appears to be a circle pan of the subject. This is such a clever idea and interesting idea in making images more interactive and helps the viewer engage with the work more. He then spoke about how techniques such as these are then used in film production and post production. He mentioned the film, Matrix and how there was a scene in that film that used a very similar technique in CGI to make the viewer circle the subject in this way. Bellow is a clip from the film showing this technique.
