For this final presentation of exhibition I have decided to print from sizes A0 to A4 squares and a moving image diptych presented on two 22inch screens. My largest print is an image of myself and Rowan embracing, made from behind Rowans back vantage point, with a shallow depth of field so my arms and the flat of Rowans back are the things in focus. The image is warm in tones but mainly has simple colours of flesh tones and white. The reason I have decided to print this image the largest is because it is the only image I have without a face. The viewer can see that the image is two people embracing, and would be able to articulate that the persons arms is female. However, the people involved in the image could be either myself, Flo, Rowan or Jack. Moreover in series with the two images bellow it, that are clearly of Rowan and Jack, it puts me into that series in suggestions. I am not obviously present, however in the same way I am the largest presence in those three images, as the print is the largest. I also felt that the images importance increased as the project went on, as it is the first embrace Rowan and I had, and therefore way the starting point for this development of the relationship. The image has a feeling of awkwardness that I feel I wanted to present to the viewer, I feel that it is affection enough, and uncomfortable enough, to set a strange tension for the rest of the images. I will frame this image with a 1.5 cm white frame, without glass. I decided not to use glass because I wanted the images to be more intimate than this, closer to the viewer without a barrier between them. I also find glass distracting and while I don’t want the image to be matt I don’t want them to be too shiny too. I will also print my images of a pearl textured paper, to give them a small shine and depth.

The diptych images bellow the largest print are two of my favourite and have remained my favourite through out this process. I shot them the same time as the embrace image above them, therefore they are also made in my old bed room in my mums house. By placing Rowan and Jack in my room, where I grew up I have invited them into my space, and therefore created my own presents in these portraits. Inspired by Nelli Palomaki and Pixy Liao and the way in which they use power, dominance and control through physical contact to express elements of a relationship, I wanted to create an aggression tension and discomfort with both of the boys touching each others face. I decided to print these images smaller as they are a diptych and therefore if they were printed larger they would become too much, and it would be too repetitive. I will frame them separately, with a very simple white frame without glass, the same as the image above.

For my second largest image I have printing a self portrait with my half-sister, Flo, which will be printed to an A1 size. The image is the only with the most colour with a range of blues, greens, blacks peaches, brown and the blond part s of our hair. I do however feel that this image looks good next to the others because of the large areas of fleshy skin tones.

To the right of this image I have decided to include one of my earliest portraits of Rowan and Jack. I wasn’t going to include this in the final show, however I have decided that this portrait is strong than the other one I was going to include. I feel that the way in which Rowan is highlighted in this image is very relevant to the rest of my research. I also feel that this image then related back to the moving image on the separate wall, therefore the two walls will not look like separate project and the location and colours will tie these two elements together. I will print this image an A4 square, so it will be slightly smaller than the images of Rowan and Jack next to it, and will be the smallest size I have exhibiting.

The next element of the work is a triptych placed under these images, of myself Rowan and Jack. These were inspired by Prophecy Coles, and embody themes such as identity, emulation and rejection. I will print these images A4 square size and they will sit lined up with the images to its right and above it. I feel that these images do not need to be over stated as again, they could be too repetitive.

Finally, I am presenting a diptych of moving image on two 22inch screens. These screens will be presented on a different wall that will be at a right angle to the main wall with the images. The reason I have decided to separate the pieces is because the layout required more space, having the moving image with the images meant the viewer was distracted by both of them, and unable to focus on just one on its own. I have two screens with a black border that will connect to the portrait of myself and Flo that I will also present with a black border. These pieces connect with each other because of the style of shooting, the tones, and moreover, the moving image clearly features Rowan and Jack, and the portrait Myself and Flo, so each subject of the work is highlighted with a black frame.
