ADDING SOUND:

SECOND MOVING IMAGE EDIT:

SECOND MOVING IMAGE:

Through my moving image experimentation I decided to post produce all of the moving image I had filmed with the sounds that I recoded separately, to see what each piece looked like and how the sounds added to its effect, and therefore give me more choice on what I was presenting. My first edit experimentation was with the first piece of moving image I filmed, at night with the darker sky. While I have decided that the colours in these pieces are too dark for the rest of the work, I still wanted to add sound to them, incase there is a later need to for the work, or I decide to use it.
Adding the sound was much easier than I thought, as it lined up with the waves in the video much better that I thought it would. I added the sound of the feet on the rocks and decreased the volume on this effect, as it is necessary for the pieces to look natural, however I do not want to be the main focus of the sound in the piece.
My aim for the sound coming from the moving image is to fill the work with atmosphere and context. The sounds of the beach were filmed where myself and my siblings grew up, just a ten minute walk from my Dads house on the seafront. I feel that when looking at the work, being able to hear the sea makes all of the pieces come to life. I feel that the sounds go with the rest of the imagery, and while calming, give the work a sense of uneasiness when looking at the uncomfortable still images. I feel as though this sounds will create a cinematic film effect, giving the work a narrative by placing them in the location with sounds.
